The longer a missing tooth is not replaced, the more the jaw and gums in that area recede. Therefore, after a long period of edentulism, the jaw bone and surrounding gums must first be reconstructed prior to implantation to ensure that the implant heals later. The gums surrounding the jaw play a particularly important role here, as they protect against inflammation and promote blood circulation.

In plastic surgery, so-called “osmotic tissue expanders” have been used for several years to advance or expand the skin in the area to be treated (e.g. after breast cancer surgery). These “tissue expanders” have also recently been used successfully in dentistry to allow effective formation of bony soft tissue in the posterior region of the lower jaw.

Our Dental-Planet dental clinic is one of the few clinics using this completely new, state-of-the-art technology.

What are osmotic tissue expanders and how do they work?
An osmotic tissue expander is a hydrogel capsule that, once inserted, absorbs fluid and swells to a predetermined size. In order to insert this self-expanding capsule, a small tunnel must first be formed at the site where the implantation is to be performed. The hydrogel capsule begins to absorb liquid and expand to a predefined volume. When the capsule is removed after approximately 6 weeks, a small cavity forms at this point in which bone can form.

This innovative procedure now allows us to gently reconstruct the bone in the posterior area of the lower jaw even in difficult situations and therefore increases the chances of successful implantation with few complications.

Use of L-PRF therapy: autologous blood plasma for better wound healing and faster formation of new bone.
L-PRF therapy is a state-of-the-art technique that is successfully used in dentistry in the fields of oral surgery, implantology and jaw surgery to accelerate wound healing and new bone formation. We have recently begun using this revolutionary process in our dental practice, Dental Planet.

What is L-PRF therapy and how does it work?
L-PRF stands for “Leukocyte – Platelet Rich Fibrin”. Leukocytes are white blood cells that are part of the immune system and contribute significantly to the healing of the body. Platelets are blood cells (or platelets) that attract healing cells and are responsible for blood clotting. They are also the crucial cells that determine growth factor production. Fibrin is another blood component that sends messenger substances for blood clotting.

Before any type of injury, the human organism releases cellular signals (proteins) that stimulate and promote the healing process. The PRF system takes advantage of exactly this mechanism.

In order to perform L-PRF therapy, some blood must first be drawn from the patient. This autologous blood is then processed in the unique “IntraSpin ™ System” (a special centrifuge) and the plasma enriched with the body’s own growth hormones is separated from the remaining residue. This plasma obtained can now be used wherever rapid wound healing is needed.

This revolutionary process has recently been made possible without any additives. This means that only your own blood is used in this process and therefore rejection or intolerance is excluded. Another bonus point is the modern “IntraSpin ™ system”, which enables direct and therefore fast blood preparation in our dental practice.

Areas of application and advantages of L-PRF therapy:
Shorter and better healing of implants:
new bone formation is stimulated in the implanted areas, resulting in faster implant stabilization. It also improves or accelerates the healing of the soft tissues of the implants.
Reduction of possible side effects after a surgical procedure:
less pain,
less inflammation,
less swelling
less wound infection,
fewer complications
For patients with severe bone loss, the collected plasma can be combined with a bone growth material to promote natural bone regeneration.
After tooth extraction, the introduction of plasma concentrate contributes to faster bone and wound regeneration. There is also less bone loss after tooth extraction.
Better and faster regeneration of bone defects (e.g. in implants, periodontitis or after cyst removal).
Gingival regeneration in exposed tooth necks.
The use of the L-PRF procedure can stimulate bone regeneration in patients suffering from wound healing problems, such as smokers or diabetics.
Safe, simple and fast procedure. Since each patient uses only components from his or her own blood, rejection or intolerance is ruled out. The processing of your own blood is performed directly in our dental office and only takes about 15 minutes.

[vc_custom_heading source="post_title" font_container="tag:h1|text_align:center" use_theme_fonts="yes"]The most modern treatment methods for better wound healing, faster healing phase of implants and jaw reconstruction in difficult cases in our Dental-Planet clinic in Spain, Quesada.
